CAPA 2022 Platform Infrastructure & Data Residency

The Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA) is the national voice for physician assistants in Canada. It advocates for the profession, supports members and students, and promotes collaborative, patient-centred care. Guided by accountability, ethics, innovation, diversity, and teamwork, CAPA aims to improve healthcare for all Canadians.

CAPA & PACCC website infrastructure, event & conference management, administrative tools, and association management software are deployed on Members Village. This specification outlines the data residency, security, and administrative controls supporting CAPA's digital services.

Active Modules & Deployed Workflows

CAPA's digital tools run within an association SaaS environment built for Canadian healthcare non-profits. Features include, but are not limited to:

  • Career Centre: Job opportunities posted for physician assistants.
  • Membership: Individual, student, and sustaining member applications and renewals.
  • Payments: PCI-compliant credit card processing routed through a secure payment gateway.
  • Member portal: Self-serve portal for profile changes, event registrations, recent communications and receipts.
  • Website: Bilingual association website featuring a secondary presence for PACCC (certified members).
  • Forms: Secure intake forms for conference registration, volunteering submissions, and general inquiries.
  • Shop: Online store to purchase branded CAPA gear.

Privacy Frameworks

CAPA exclusively owns all data. CASL is enforced through granular opt-outs within the platform.

Core Infrastructure

Infrastructure operations adhere to the following protocols:

  1. Data Residency:
Primary databases, container clusters, and automated snapshots reside exclusively in Canadian data centers (Toronto, ON).
  2. Network & Storage Encryption:
Enforced HTTPS (TLS 1.3/1.2) in transit; AES-256 data encryption at rest.
  3. Access Controls:
Zero-trust architecture with MFA and SSH key authentication restricted to authorized system engineers.

Third-Party Integrations: Where CAPA 2022 enables specialized external tools (e.g. embedded video streaming), data processed by those specific tools is subject to their agreements.

Governance & Inquiries

  • For Member Records & Policy Requests:
To update credentials, adjust communication preferences, or submit a formal data access inquiry, contact the CAPA 2022 Office directly.
  • For Infrastructure & Platform Support:
Operational incident logs and system architecture inquiries are coordinated between CAPA 2022 administration and the technical team at Members Village.
